The Upper Castle soars above the town centre on a hilltop 50 m high and can be seen from a great distance. This awe-inspiring building is home to a museum, which invites visitors to see the exhibition entitled “From the Land of the Vogtland Reeves to the Reuss Older Line Principality”.

It is also possible to rent the large royal room at the Upper Castle.

The small royal room is available for your conferences and presentations or for weddings. We would point out that the museums in the castle town and royal capital of Greiz only provide the rooms and seating. You need to look after the design and decorations yourself.

In addition to the large and small royal rooms, it is also possible to rent the Upper Castle courtyard – for a champagne reception, a lecture, concerts, celebrations or readings: the Upper Castle courtyard provides the suitable setting.

The royal stables were first mentioned in the 17^th century. They were used as a parking area and a coal cellar from 1970 until the end of the 1980s and therefore deteriorated seriously.
The work to thoroughly restore the royal stables started in October 2001. This attractive room with its special atmosphere is ideal for readings, theatre performances, exhibitions and celebrations.
